The Hotel Inspector returns: 9th April, 9pm, Channel 5
Alex Polizzi is back with a brand new series and a whole lot of even bigger and fresher challenges! This year, the Hotel Inspector finds herself summoned abroad to help a pair of British sisters who are finding that running their Spanish La Casa hotel is anything but sun, sea, sand and success.
Also, for the first time, Alex helps launch a brand new hotel. Albion House in Ramsgate is a Grade II listed building made famous by Queen Victoria, who stayed there before being crowned. But plans to turn it into a contemporary, boutique hotel have run into serious problems. With the budget blown and no sign of an opening date, can Alex help steer first time hoteliers Ben and Emma in the right direction?
Alex also returns to Cornwall, where she’s faced with an hotelier in Looe who refuses to modernise, despite his plummeting occupancy rate. In Bournemouth, Alex has to pull out all the stops to inject some much needed glamour into a celebrity themed hotel that’s lost its sparkle. While in Ramsbottom, she’s called in to help an owner whose work-life balance is so broken she sleeps behind reception, much to the frustration of her young family.
Things get emotional in Gloucester when Alex is forced to confront a family business that’s threatening to fall after more than forty years if the daughter can’t be convinced to step up and take over from her mother.
There’s some hard, home-truths and temper-tantrums in Port Talbot when Alex is forced to confront a couple whose B&B fails to deliver breakfast to its guests. The fur continues to fly when she demands they get rid of the pigeons that flock to their entrance, and kerb their dogs that are putting off more potential punters.
And there’s precious little harmony at the Harmony Hotel in Torquay where Alex’s makeover fails to meet with the approval of the owners who feel the Hotel Inspector’s decorating skills don’t match up to their own musically inspired tastes.
Tune into Channel 5 at 9pm TOMORROW for episode 1.
