Twofour’s specialist events division, Rocket Science, delivered a launch event for Oxfam’s Get-together campaign on the 17th January.

The event, which took place at Lounge Lover in London’s Shoreditch, was filled with high profile supporters of Oxfam’s Get-together, an initiative that will raise money to support women living in poverty around the world. Guests included Lauren Laverne (BBC Radio 6), Jane Shepherdson (CEO Whistles clothing line) and Miquita Oliver (T4), who are all long-time supporters of Oxfam and its work across the globe.

The ‘Get-together’ themed evening kick-started Oxfam’s Campaign which will culminate on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2012. Oxfam are encouraging women across the UK to hold fundraising ‘Get-togethers’ to help  support vulnerable women around the world.

Rocket Science worked closely with Oxfam to develop the creative and logistical aspects of the event, taking the lead on the technical production and speaker management and support.
Clare Buckham, Project Manager at Rocket Science says, “It has been really great to be involved with an event of this nature.  It was the first of its kind for the Oxfam team which meant that they were really creatively open-minded, enthusiastic about our ideas, and keen to use our experience and expertise.  Working in the charity sector has also been a valuable addition to the Rocket Science portfolio bringing increased diversity to our client list.”

‘Get-together’ manager Meriel Flint said, “Working with Rocket Science was an absolute pleasure. Clare and the team were enthusiastic, friendly and helpful from the very first meeting to the end of a very busy night on the day of the launch! We are so pleased with what the ‘Get-together’ launch achieved and have had huge amounts of positive feedback from guests as well as lots of support for the campaign!”
