Nine Network lines up second series of Twofour’s international hit, This Time Next Year
The Nine Network has confirmed a second run of Twofourâs award-winning time travel entertainment format, This Time Next Year.
The show, which is the fastest selling new series of 2016 with 14 territories in production, launched on the Nine Network in August with an average national audience of 1.870 million viewers and a peak of 2.205 million, and the program has consistently won its timeslot with Total People.
The first series saw host Karl Stefanovic meet a number of determined and compelling individuals, all ready to pledge 12 months of their lives to pursue extraordinary challenges. As they leave the studio through the âthis timeâ door and re-appear moments later through the ânext yearâ door, we see the results of their year-long work and effort in an instant.
“In this series Iâve been floored by some of the people Iâve met. Theyâve overcome incredible odds to tackle big personal goals like losing half their body weight, finding love, having a baby, overcoming a phobia and even recovering from a spinal injury to walk again,” he said.
“Whether youâre 5 or 95, if you want to transform your life by âthis time next yearâ we want to hear from you. Weâre also encouraging people to nominate a friend or relative.”
Karl said he canât wait to hear the new pledges that everyday Australians will share with the entire nation in series 2.
Melanie Leach, Chief Executive, Twofour Group, said: âThe Nine Network was the second broadcaster to air This Time Next Year and we’re delighted itâs the second to recommission, too. It’s been fascinating to see the Nine Network’s spin on this universal, heart-warming format and how culturally relevant the show can be across the globe.”
