James Nesbitt to present Twofour’s brand new ITV1 series on Ireland


James Nesbitt is to present a new series on his native country for ITV1.

Twofour has been commissioned to produce eight-part series James Nesbitt’s Ireland, in which the actor will explore his homeland and offer his own personal take on Irish life, its culture, history and people.

Throughout the series James will meet and engage with Irish people from all walks of life, as he provides a fresh perspective on iconic landmarks such as Blarney Castle and natural wonders like the Black Cliffs of Moher as well as less well-known places of interest including the traditional seaweed baths at Strandhill.

James Nesbitt said: “Ireland is a place I love. Much of Ireland is still a beautifully well kept secret and I want to take viewers on a trip round a country that they may think they know, but which still holds surprises for all of us.”

The series was commissioned for ITV by Diana Howie, ITV Factual Commissioning Editor and Alison Sharman, Director of Factual and Daytime.

The series is executive produced by Twofour’s Melanie Leach and Dan Adamson, and series produced by Charlotte Wheeler.
